The workshop was a day-long enriching program aimed at giving a detailed insight to basics of Life Skills like, Thinking Skills, Emotional Skills and Social skills.
The workshop was divided into 2 sessions which was pre-lunch and post-lunch. The pre-lunch session had a host of activities like role-plays, group discussions, demonstrations etc. The post-lunch session also kept the teachers engaged in doing a self-analysis of their teaching to evaluate if they are including Life Skills in their teaching.
Life Skills as the word itself defines, is the ability to effectively deal with the demands and challenges of life. Therefore, this workshop served as a platform for teachers to understand these challenges and ways to deal with them.
Topics like effective communication, social skills, positive attitude, impact of social-media on students, seating arrangement in classrooms, environment of the classroom and time- management were covered during the sessions.
Life Skills education aims to promote inter-personal skills, self-awareness and self-management abilities among young students to help them navigate through their daily challenges. Teachers play an effective role in imparting these skills to students and so the teachers were advised to implement these skills in their teaching methodologies.
Principal, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Bhat appreciated the efforts of the resource persons for facilitating such an enlightening workshop and also thanked them for spending their valuable time with the teachers, empowering them with the required skills.
The workshop concluded with the teachers posting their feedback online and giving a review about the workshop offline.
