The main theme of the month was Self-Awareness and the subthemes were self-concept, personal beliefs, thoughts, biases and values.
Class VI
The students used finger puppets to enact a story highlighting kindness, honesty, and sharing. This activity helped them develop their communication skills, empathy, and an understanding of moral values. They also did the art-integrated activity ‘Where do I Feel?’, where they used colours to show where they feel different emotions in their bodies. This encouraged emotional awareness, creativity, and self-expression.
Class VII
The students engaged in mime activity to recreate any one of their daily interactions with family, friends, and peers. This helped them observe and reflect on different behaviours and emotions. Through these performances, they developed a better understanding of how their own behaviour impacts others. Other than this, they also took part in an art-integrated activity where they drew a superhero character, they felt shared similar traits with themselves. This creative exercise encouraged them to think deeply about their own strengths, values, and unique qualities.
Class VIII
The students of Class VIII participated in a podcast activity where they imagined and spoke about their future selves. This activity encouraged self-awareness and self-reflection, helping students explore their personal goals, values, and strengths. Additionally, they took part in the Hot Cross Bun activity, which focused on understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, physical state, and behaviour. This activity promoted emotional awareness and a better understanding of the mind-body connection.
