As a part of Swachhata hi Sewa campaign, students of KENNEDY HIGH took the Swachhata shapath, along with their teachers. This pledge was administered to them by the Academic Director and Senior Principal, Ms Rajyalaxmi Bhat in the morning assembly.
A cleanliness drive was organized wherein, students from XI-XII took up the cudgels and cleaned the school premises and the surrounding area. Not to be left behind, Primary school students got involved in handwashing, cleaning their lockers and tidying their classrooms, thus focusing on inculcation of clean and healthy habits.
An essay writing competition was organized for students of IX and X on the topic “swachhotsav”.
Students from class IX & X performed role plays on “swacchata”. Students from middle school engaged in role plays to highlight why Swachhata should be a way of life and not remain only, “once a year” event.
The students had also planted many saplings in the school, their homes and community when they participated in the “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” campaign in July 2025 as well as for Vanmahotsav.
Peer Educators from class VIII actively participated in a rally within the school campus to promote awareness about Swachhata Pakhwada. With handmade placards and enthusiastic chants of slogans, they inspired the students to embrace the values of hygiene, sanitation, and environmental responsibility. Their slogans echoed the importance of keeping surroundings clean and cultivating healthy habits. This way, the rally served as a platform reinforcing the message that cleanliness begins with one individual’s action.
Swachhata Samvad was held wherein, students of secondary school participated and talked about the importance of raising awareness and sensitising everyone on the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and how good health is linked to eliminating waste in different areas of life. Students of Primary also had a discussion in their EVS classes regarding the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and how “swachhata” helps in keeping diseases away.
All in all, it was an informative campaign which reiterated that cleanliness and hygiene are a must for a healthy life and a healthy nation.
