Like always, students were engaged in morning meditation and positive affirmations to help start their day with a positive mindset. They were also active participants in sports and games focusing on physical exercise.

Primary students learn about healthy habits, how to think positively and how to deal with strong emotions like anger, excitement, sadness and anxiety. Wellness teachers talked about resilience, healthy self-esteem, positive self-talk, growth mindset and healthy eating. Secondary students discussed important issues revolving around self-harm importance of positive body image, gut health, good nutrition and 8 dimensions of wellbeing.

Students of class IX conducted a workshop on stress management.

Peer educators from class X enacted some street plays addressing topics like peer pressure, resilience, exam stress, asking for help, breaking the myths surrounding mental health and how to be healthy and happy.

Students were also shown some short videos and films related to gratitude, compassion, kindness, inclusivity, gender sensitivity, growth mindset, bullying, conflict resolution and interpersonal relationships. After watching the film, students were encouraged to express their thoughts on the same, without fear of being judged.

At KENNEDY HIGH, there are regular classes on socio emotional learning as a life skill and as a part of these classes, students write their self-reflections on the topics related to wellbeing as discussed in the class. This year, the classes in October are dedicated to socio-emotional well-being and mental health topics.

At the end of the month, an exhibition will be held where students will be participating in various activities related to mental health starting from poster making to creating games which promote critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, team building and active listening, to podcasts, role plays, skits and performing arts, thereby enhancing emotional intelligence through excellent leadership, strong communication skills and increased self-confidence.
