TWO CBSE TEACHERS ATTEND ELT WORKSHOP-2025

Two TGTs from CBSE had the opportunity to attend a workshop organised by Oxford University Press on Assessment for PARAKH to track progress on HPC in an English Language Classroom on 31 October 2025.

The facilitator began the session by highlighting the importance of effective assessment strategies in today's dynamic English classrooms. She explained how assessment can be used as a powerful tool to track students' holistic progress and to identify key competencies under the PARAKH framework. She discussed practical ways to integrate Higher-Order Performance Competencies (HPC) into classroom learning and evaluation and shared several classroom-based examples to demonstrate how formative assessments, diagnostic tools, and performance-based evaluations can help teachers enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Participants were also guided through innovative techniques for creating meaningful assessment rubrics and question types suited for different levels of learners. The facilitator emphasised aligning assessments with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) and creating inclusive, competency-based classrooms.
