Sankranti at KENNEDY HIGH the global school was celebrated on Friday, 09 January 2026, transforming the campus into a lively rural landscape, beautifully reflecting the warmth, colour, and spirit of India’s rich cultural heritage. The entire school resonated with festive cheer as students & staff came together to celebrate the harvest festival in its most authentic form.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Managing Director, Sri. M. Subba Reddy and Academic Director & Sr. Principal Smt. Rajyalaxmi Bhat.
Smt. Rajyalaxmi Bhat inspiring words encouraged students to stay rooted in tradition while confidently embracing the future, reinforcing the values upheld by the institution. The celebrations began on an auspicious note with “Kumba Swagatham”, where students extended a traditional and graceful welcome to the dignitaries. A ceremonial bonfire (Bhogi Mantalu) lit up the surroundings, symbolizing the burning away of the old and the welcoming of new beginnings.
Students from Classes I to V & Grades 1 to 5 spoke about the significance of Sankranti and its associated traditions such as Bhogi Mantalu, Pindi Vantalu, Gangireddulu, and Haridasu. Their speeches not only enhanced awareness among their peers but also showcased how young learners are being nurtured to understand and preserve cultural values.
The cultural programme that followed was a vibrant display of talent and tradition. Students captivated the audience with energetic dances, melodious songs, and expressive performances that highlighted the diversity and artistic richness of Indian culture. Each presentation reflected the joy, gratitude, and community spirit that Sankranti stands for.
To further encourage creativity, a Rangoli Competition was organized for Class VIII & Grade 8 students. The students mesmerized everyone with their intricate designs and vibrant colours, turning the campus into a visual treat. The array of Rangolis symbolized prosperity, positivity, and festive harmony.
The event created lasting memories while instilling pride in cultural heritage, making Sankranti 2026 truly special and enriching for everyone involved.
