KENNEDY HIGH JOINS THE FIGHT AGAINST DRUG ABUSE

On 3 March 2024, Hyderabad city police invited schools from the city to join a programme against substance abuse among students. KENNEDY HIGH the global school nominated a senior teacher, the school counsellor and a senior official to attend the day-long session.

It was an informative and interactive session focusing on formation of anti-drug committees, with students and motivated teachers who shall be the warriors in the war against drugs, advisory to schools to conduct surveillance of surrounding shops to monitor the sale of edibles or objects that any be associated with drug use, to monitor students from sudden behavioural changes and provide counselling and support to those in need with a focus on confidentiality and sensitivity.

The session also threw light on the urgent need for development of life skills and drug awareness for students, and that during PTM focus should be more on holistic development of the children and providing insights into reducing comparisons and “Rat Race”.

Based on this session KENNEDY HIGH has already formed an Anti-Drug committee and nominated student ambassadors from each class who will begin training with their mentor teachers from mid -April to combat the drug menace by spreading awareness among the peers and the community.
