On 20 March 2024, an awareness programme on National Credit Framework (NCrF) was held for Principals and senior teachers by CBSE. It was conducted by Deputy Secretary, Skill Education, Sri. Rajiv Pandey.
Around 300 Principals and teachers attended the programme. KENNEDY HIGH also nominated a senior teacher to attend this programme.
The participants were told that the NCrF will be implemented in phases starting with Classes VI-VIII in the academic year 2024-25, followed by class IX, XI & XII in the future academic sessions.
During the session, it was reiterated that the NCrF has been formulated which is a comprehensive credit framework encompassing vocational education integrating creditization of learning in various dimensions i.e. vocational skills, academic skills and experiential learning including relevant experience and proficiency/professional levels acquired.
The focus is on transitioning from traditional classroom education to competency and outcome-based learning, ensuring that assessments are mandatory for credit acquisition across all learning forms.
It was announced that more workshops would be conducted and a detailed SOP regarding how to implement NCrF would be shared by the CBSE board soon.
