In the month of December 2024, the main theme was Relationship skills, the fourth component of Socio Emotional Learning and the sub-themes were communication, friendship, family bonding, setting boundaries and conflict management.
Class II
Through the ‘Relationship Train’ activity, students learned to express love and affection for family members and respect for their teachers. This activity fostered emotional intelligence, empathy, and positive relationships.
Class III
The ‘Apology Ice Cream’ activity taught the students the importance of active listening, verbal and nonverbal communication, and thoughtful responses. By mastering these skills, students can handle social situations with confidence and build stronger relationships.
Class IV
In December, students participated in the ‘Friendasaurus’ activity, which encouraged empathy, kindness, and positive relationships. By understanding the value of strong friendships, students can create a supportive and inclusive community.
Class V
The ‘Conflict Crushers’ activity equipped students with effective conflict resolution strategies, teaching them to navigate challenging situations and maintain healthy relationships. Class VI
As a gesture of regret and love, the students made a heartfelt apology card for their mothers, acknowledging their mistakes and promising to be more respectful in the future for a given scenario. They also wrote a letter to their friends, to celebrate the joy of friendship.
Class VII
Students made personalized paper bags with notes for their mothers and visualized relationships through the 'Realm of Flowers' activity. They also practiced conflict resolution by writing letters, developing essential communication skills. These activities helped students strengthen bonds with family and friends, promoting empathy and harmonious relationships.
Class VIII
Students engaged in a thought-provoking traffic lights roleplay to differentiate between toxic and healthy relationships. They also expressed gratitude by writing heartfelt appreciation letters to their friends. Additionally, students created visual representations of personal boundaries, illustrating the importance of setting limits with others to maintain healthy relationships.
