EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING FOR CLASS VI STUDENTS
As a part of the lesson, “What is Government,” students of class VI participated in a mock voting process in the month of August 2023. This gave them an opportunity to get a first- hand taste of exercising their franchise in India, as it is done in the real world, for those who are 18 years of age and above. This activity was received with great excitement and students were delighted to cast their vote and get their fingers inked. In the process they understood how voting takes place to elect representatives in a democracy like India. This activity also gave them an idea about the role of citizens and the importance of exercising the right to vote to elect a government.
