DESIGN THINKING & INNOVATION (CBSE SKILL BASED SUBJECT)

Design Thinking and Innovation is a unique, skill-based subject introduced by CBSE for students at an early age and caters to students of class VI to XII.

KENNEDY HIGH introduced Design Thinking and Innovation in the academic year 2023-24 for class VI (CBSE) and two teachers underwent online training provided by CBSE.  The teachers were successful in implementing all the modules as prescribed in the   CBSE task book.

Students thoroughly enjoyed executing the tasks and were very keen and curious to pursue the subject in the following academic year. In response to students and parents’ request, the school decided to continue offering DTI this academic year to students of class VI and also extended it to class VII (CBSE). Another teacher was hired and trained for the extra work load.

Currently, our students are learning several features about Design Thinking and coming up with Innovative ideas which they can implement in their real-life.  Additionally, they are also exposed to skills like creative thinking, critical thinking & problem-solving.

We are presently teaching students through DTI to embrace change, reflect on their decisions, develop an innovative mindset and improve problem-solving skills to ensure life-long learning.
